Christchurch residents ticket offer on again for next year's ShowChristchurch residents who are planning to attend next year’s Ellerslie International Flower Show (EIFS) will be able to buy tickets at the discounted price of $22 from September 1st. For the month of September, Christchurch residents and ratepayers will be able to buy up to four Any Day tickets at $22 each to attend next year’s event. This type of ticket allows the purchaser to attend the event on any day they choose. Children’s tickets (under 15 years) will also be available for the discounted price of $4 each. Mayor Bob Parker says the residents’ offer is exclusive to people living in Christchurch and is the best value ticket available. It is the third year Christchurch residents have been offered discounted tickets. read more

Plenty of Exhibitors sign up for 2011Now that we’re into August, plans for the 2011 Ellerslie International Flower Show are really starting to take shape. Dozens of exhibitors have signed up to exhibit at next year’s Show and Exhibition Manager Kate Hillier tells me we can look forward to some very exciting and innovative gardens. Many of the exhibitors who have signed up for next year’s Show are returning from previous years. One of those designers is multiple gold medal winner and Wellington designer Ben Hoyle. Ben was on the judging panel at this year’s Show and says having a break from exhibiting has given him a newfound enthusiasm for it. Read More |
Multiple gold medal winner to return to EllerslieEllerslie International Flower Show veteran Ben Hoyle was on the judging panel at this year’s Show – but he’s returning to exhibiting next year with a “purely indulgent” garden that he promises will be his most creative and daring yet. Ben describes his latest creation, called Pure Indulgence, as “the fusion of all things sweet and horticultural treats…a magical journey in a truly dreamlike world”. He will exhibit in the Starlight Marquee in 2011. “It is unconventional and it will be horticulturally challenging.
