Focus on Flowers at Ellerslie! - 2010 Photo Competition
Prescription: Any floral theme – interpret your vision and concept of flowers with flair and imagination!
The brief is broad and flexible brief to encourage imagination and inventiveness.

Competition Conditions:
The Image: Capture of the original image, whether on film or digital media, must have been by the contestant. Post capture manipulation by photographic printing or digital means, if any, must be predominantly done by the entrant. Printing may be carried out by any process.
Copyright: Individual photographers retain copyright but the Ellerslie International Flower Show and Fusion Trust shall be entitled to use images for publicity and related purposes free of charge. Such uses include display of images at a low resolution on the web and within digital audio visual presentations. (These use small files and the extraction of
individual images is not possible.) All reasonable care will be taken to protect individual photographers’ rights and acknowledge their authorship where appropriate.
Format: The competition is open to prints only in a form suitable for display if accepted for exhibition.
Maximum Size: Prints must be suitable to fit within a frame measuring 12 x 8inches (305 x 203 mm).
(Photographic paper is still based on Imperial dimensions.)
A4 paper, 297 x 210 mm (11.7 x 8.27 inches is suitable.
Either “landscape” or “portrait” layout is acceptable.
Panoramic images must fit within the specified dimensions.
Do not mount prints - images chosen for exhibition will be mounted on a suitable backing board if required.
Digital Image File: To obviate the need for scanning for the DVD of successful images it would be helpful if you provided a low resolution digital file with a larger dimension of about 1200 pixels. This may be included on a CD or emailed to office@fusiontrust.co.nz.
Number of entries: Each entrant may submit up to three entries.
Previous awards: Images which have previously received awards in the “Focus on Flowers” or The Great Ellerslie Photo Competition” may not be entered again.
Judging: Entries will be judged by a panel of three judges and results emailed to entrants by 7 March 2010.
Awards & Exhibition Approximately 100 images will be selected for display at the Ellerslie International Flower Show from 10 to 14 March 2010.
Special awards will be given to exceptional images.
Young Photographer Entrants under 18 years at the closing date will be eligible for an additional award.
Care of work The organisers will take all reasonable care of entries but can accept no liability for loss or damage.
Return of work Prints will be returned only if suitable prepaid, addressed return packaging is included. (A label to fit your original packaging is acceptable.)
Model releases Images of recognisable individuals, other than known celebrities in public places, may require permission for publication. Entrants must be prepared to obtain such permission for successful images if required.

DVD
A DVD of images accepted for the Exhibition accompanied by suitable music will be available at $20 each.
This will run for about 10 minutes and individual photographers will be credited.
If you wish to purchase a Focus on Flowers 2010 Disk please send $20 with your entry.
